Library History

Originally built in 1911 with funds from the Carnegie Library Grants, Sunnyside became affiliated with the Yakima Valley Regional Library in 1956. A new facility was built in 1965, and in 2004, the Sunnyside Library as annexed to the Regional Library.

Driving directions

From I-82 Southbound:

  1. The Sunnyside Library is approximately 40 miles from Yakima off I-82.
  2. Take the Sunnyside-Mabton exit, #67.
  3. (This is the second Sunnyside exit.)
  4. Turn left onto Midvale Road.
  5. Turn right at the 2nd stop light onto Lincoln.
  6. Turn left at the next stop light (6th and Lincoln.)
  7. Continue on 6th to the first light.
  8. (You will see a Safeway ahead on the left.)
  9. Turn right onto Grant. The library is immediately to the right.

From I-82 Northbound:

  1. Take the Sunnyside-Mabton exit, #67.
  2. (This is the second Sunnyside exit.)
  3. Turn right onto Midvale Road.
  4. Turn right at the 2nd stop light onto Lincoln.
  5. Turn left at the next stop light (6th and Lincoln.)
  6. Continue on 6th to the first light.

You may park anywhere in the lot in front of the library.
