Banned Books Week: September 23rd-29th

Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. It highlights the value of free and open access to information, and brings together the entire community in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas–even those that some consider unorthodox or unpopular. The 2018 theme, “Banning Books Silences Stories,” is a reminder that everyone needs to speak out against censorship.

READ BANNED BOOKS

One of the best ways to stand up to book censorship is to read banned books! Below, you’ll find the Top 10 Most Challenged Books of 2017, according to the ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom, which tracks challenges to library, school and university materials.
