Beanstack: Reading Challenges

    HOW TO USE BEANSTACK

    Yakima Valley Libraries presents Beanstack!

    To better serve you, YVL is using a new easy to use platform for participation in our reading challenges like Summer Reading, Winter Reading, and upcoming 100 Book Club.

    The new platform, Beanstack, is easy to use. It’s like a fitness tracker but for reading and your whole family can participate.

    You can create your Beanstack account on the web or in the app, join a challenge, and start logging books and reading now.

    How to create an account on the web

    • Go to the Beanstack landing page
    • Hacer clic Register as an Individual or Family
    • Fill out your information
    • Then add your child as a Reader to your account
    • Sign up for available challenges
    • Start logging!

    How to create an account in the app

    • Download the Beanstack Tracker app from the App Store or Google Play
    • Open the app, touch Find Your School or Library
    • Type in “YVL” or “Yakima Valley Libraries”
    • Touch Sign up!
    • Follow the prompts to enter your information
    • Touch Add a Reader to add family members
    • Touch Discover at the bottom of the screen to sign up for a reading challenge

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

    Yes! You can register your whole family at the same time and track reading together.  The person who manages the account is the Account Creator.  Account Creators can have multiple Readers attached to the account.  We encourage families with multiple Readers to use the parent/guardian as the Account Creator.

    In case you win a prize, we need a way to contact you.

    Emails are sent out when you unlock a reward in Beanstack (these are physical prizes).  You can also sign up for book recommendation through Beanstack and these will be emailed out to you.

    No, you will create a whole new login for Beanstack.

    Once you have created your Beanstack account, you’ll see challenges available to you on the Beanstack main page.  These challenges are available to you based on the age entered in your account.  If you do not see a challenge you are looking for, give us a call.
