When you sign up for a library card, you can decide if you would like to receive text messages or email reminders about your library account for:
- Holds notices: Sent when your item becomes available for you to check out.
- Due date reminders: Sent 3 days before your item’s due date.
- Overdue reminders: Sent 2 days and 14 days after your item becomes overdue.
- Account expiration: Sent 10 days before expiration.
*Patrons choosing phone or print will not receive all above listed reminders.
**Print notifications are sent for all items overdue 28 days or more.
Messaging Terms and Conditions
- Yakima Valley Libraries (YVL) occasionally contacts registered patrons via text message or email. Personal information and mobile numbers will not be shared, sold, or rented to third parties for marketing purposes.
- The types of messages the library may send includes but is not limited to customer care/account notifications.
- Message frequency may vary.
- Message and data rates may apply.

- Failure to receive a library account notice does not waive patron responsibility for the timely return of library materials.
