Yakima Valley Libraries presents: The Children's Day Family Literacy Festival on Saturday April 29th

Children’s Day (el día de los niños), celebrates children, families, multiculturalism, and the importance of reading together!


On Saturday, April 29th, children, families, and caregivers are invited to join us for stories, games, songs, crafts and special activities hosted at the Sunnyside and Yakima Central Libraries. 


DIA EVENTS @ YAKIMA CENTRAL LIBRARY


SATURDAY, APRIL 29TH – 10:00AM – 2:00PM

Drop-in throughout the day at the Yakima Central Library for FREE crafts & activities for the whole family, including the following special events: 

10:30am-11:00am

Enjoy a musical performance the Yakima Music en Acción (YAMA) Preludio Youth Orchestra

11:00am-11:30am

Join us for a fun, interactive storytime, followed by crafts, activities, and games

1:00pm-2:00pm

Enjoy a 20-minute musical performance by the Yakima Music en Acción (YAMA) Chamber Orchestra. After the performance, students will host an instrument show & tell.

SATURDAY, APRIL 29TH – 10:00AM – 2:30PM

Drop-in at the Sunnyside Community Library throughout the day for FREE crafts & activities for the whole family, including the following special events: 

10:30am-11:00am

A fun, interactive bilingual storytime, followed by crafts, activities and games

11:15am-12:00pm  &  1:15pm-2:00pm 

Play a few rounds of family-friendly Lotería (Mexican Bingo), and maybe win a prize!

12:00pm – 12:30pm

Enjoy dance performances by students from Valley Performer Arts Center

12:45pm – 2:30pm

Snack on popcorn while watching a family-friendly movie!
