Yakima Valley Libraries has partnered with the Washington State Library to host a series of virtual reality programs throughout the Yakima Valley, now through March 12.
The “Experience Virtual Reality” programs are designed for teens and adults 13 years and older and will be offered at Selah, Sunnyside, Toppenish, Moxee and Buena community libraries.
Program participants will be able to use an Oculus Rift or Oculus GO headset to enjoy interactive, immersive 360-degree video, and stunning 3-D simulation.
Each Oculus device features a variety of virtual reality options for patrons to choose from, such as taking a tour of the White House, journeying through the bloodstream, or visiting the International Space Station and other interactive environments.
The Oculus Rift and GO headsets will be available for 15-minute sessions, and participants will need to signup in advance.
Teens (13-17) must have a signed permission form from a parent or legal guardian. Adults will be asked to sign a release waiver form. For program dates and times, please visit: www.yvl.org/events.
