Library Card Sign-up Month Contests & Activities

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time to remind everyone of the value a library card can bring. Yakima Valley Libraries is excited to celebrate this special occasion by hosting a drawing contest open to all ages. We invite community members to participate, showcase their creativity, and discover all the resources that a library card offers!

National Library Card Sign-Up Month
National Library Card Sign-Up Month is an annual celebration that highlights the importance of
library cards in fostering lifelong learning and access to information. Yakima Valley Libraries
proudly serves the majority of Yakima County with 16 branches dedicated to meeting the
educational, cultural, and informational needs of our community. With a library card, residents
can access a vast collection of books, e-books, audiobooks, online resources, educational
programs, and much more—all for free!

Drawing Contest Details
The drawing contest is divided into three age groups: 5-12, 13-18, and 19+.
Official entry forms can be picked up at any of our Yakima Valley Libraries branches. All submissions must be
turned in by September 30th. Winning entries from each age group will receive special prizes
