Three Community Libraries Open for Limited In-Person Service

Good news! Yakima Valley Libraries is implementing a phased reopening of some community libraries for limited in-person service.

While we are aware that this is long-awaited news for many, it is important to remember that in-person services do not (yet) mean a return to normal library services or hours.

So, before you plan you next library visit, please closely review the following:

Health and Safety Measures for In-Person Library Services

  • A mask or face is covering required for entry
  • Building capacity is limited and monitored
  • Library visits are limited to 30 minutes per day, per person
  • Computer use is limited to 30 minutes per day, per person
  • Patrons and staff must maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others
  • Place all library returns into an outdoor book drop
  • All returned materials will be quarantined for 48 hours
