Discover M.O.R.E. @ the Library

If you’re in a book club, you may request book club sets from Yakima Valley Libraries.  Each set contains eight (8) copies of the book. Reservations for the sets are managed online using the KitKeeper system.  For more detailed information on book club sets, visit the Book Clubs page.

The Check Out Washington – Discover Pass & Backpack Kit includes use of a FREE Discover Pass, in addition to a backpack containing 1 pair binoculars, 2 foldout guides, and 1 Washington State Parks map. The Check Out Washington Pass offers you free access to millions of acres of Washington state recreation lands, including 100+ state parks, 350+ recreation sites, 80 natural areas, and 30+ wildlife areas.

The Check Out Washington – Discover Pass offers you FREE access to millions of acres of state recreation lands in Washington, including: 100+ state parks, 350+ recreation sites, 80 natural areas, and 30+ wildlife areas. 

Board games and card games are available for people of all ages. Games are a great way to learn collaboration, strategy, and communication. They are also really fun! Check out a familiar favorite or try something new.

Launchpad learning tablets are designed just for kids ages 3-10.  Each tablet comes pre-loaded with high-quality, ad-free apps that are both fun and educational. Apps are grouped by age, grade level, subject area and themes like, language arts, math, critical thinking and creativity—making it easy for parents and kids to choose a tablet that fits their interests and needs.

The Maryhill Museum Pass provides FREE family admission at the Maryhill Museum of Art. The pass covers museum admission for members of the same household, plus up to four guests. Library patrons may check out the museum pass using a valid library card.

STEM Activity Kits include educational books, supplies, and fun activities to help you and your child(ren) explore topics like magnetism, electricity, physics, and engineering. Kits are designed for all ages, from 3 to infinity!

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. STEAM to go! kits extend learning beyond books for  hands-on exploration.  Yakima Valley Libraries has STEAM to go! kits designed for different age groups.

These themed storytime kits help bring all the fun of a library storytime to you! Storytime to Go kits include books, props, and suggested songs and activities to support early literacy skills in a home or preschool setting.
